From your childhood days to now you are enthralled when being told a story. It captivates you and gets your attention completely. Think television and news. News is presented in the form of a story and sure enough you sit through it, irrespective of the seriousness of it.  So have you thought of using story telling while speaking in public? It is a great public speaking skill and can rarely go wrong.

Intensify a part, or play it down, humor an issue or emote the seriousness, exaggerate the intensity and laugh away what needs to be laughed at. In short stimulate your audience and take them under your spell – the spell of public speaking!

Look back and remember your parents using their hands to express. Use your hands to express and impress. Your hands are your greatest gift. It has the ability to create and destroy. So use the positive power in it to create and express your thoughts. Often expression has more impact than words. Use gestures as a public speaking skill and help in reinforcing your statements. More often than not gestures and articulation of hands helps to breathe life into your presentation or speech. It is a public speaking skill that makes your presentation more interesting.

You are the best story teller when it comes to telling your story. Say it in your style that is very you.
